There are currently four (4) membership categories; they are as
follows: Regular, Associate, Sustaining, and Student. Each regular
member is entitled to one vote and is eligible for elective office.
All other membership categories have all rights and privileges of
membership except the right to vote and the right of eligibility for
elective office. Annual dues are $65.00 for regular members $75.00
for sustaining members, $50.00 for associate members, and $25.00 for
student members. MPA's membership year
is June 1 through May 31. MPA dues include membership in NFPA. The
membership categories are defined as follows:

Regular
- currently employed as a paralegal, and (1) employed as
a paralegal for at least one year, or (2) completed curriculum
of training as a paralegal or obtained certification as a
paralegal by a national paralegal association; resides in the
State of Tennessee, Arkansas or Mississippi.

Associate
- not currently employed as a paralegal, and (1)
participating in in-house training as a paralegal or (2)
graduate of a paralegal training program, or (3) former member
of MPA.
|
|
 |
Sustaining
- individual, law firm, corporation, school, or paralegal
program representative, who endorses the Association and the
paralegal concept or is actively involved in the promotion of
the paralegal profession.

|
 |
Student
- currently enrolled in a program of paralegal training
presented by an educational institution. |

National
Federation of Paralegal Associations ("NFPA") - As a member
of NFPA, MPA has a vote in establishing the direction of the
profession by participating in the oldest and largest paralegal
association in North America (58 current member associations in
the U.S. and Canada). Among other things, NFPA monitors
legislation, case law, and court ethics opinions affecting the
paralegal profession.

Subscription to The National Paralegal Reporter, a
quarterly magazine published by NFPA that provides information
on national developments and trends in the profession.
|
|
 |
Subscription to the MPA Membership Directory. The
membership directory lists the name, employer, and specialty
designation and email address for each MPA member.
|
|
 |
General
Membership Luncheons - MPA luncheons are held the third
Thursday of every other month. The luncheons provide members
with the opportunity to meet other paralegal professionals and
develop valuable contacts. The luncheon programming usually
includes discussion of paralegal issues, continuing education,
career issues and/or community awareness. MPA invites a variety
of speakers to the luncheons to discuss topics of general
interest to paralegal professionals. Members are encouraged to
attend and non-members are always welcome.

Professional Seminars - MPA offers seminars and symposiums
from time to time on issues affecting the profession. |
